Beaver Creek Ranch acreage is comprised of 1480 +/- contiguous, deeded
acres, which consist of 530 +/-acres of crop land, 935 +/- acres of native
range, and 15 +/- acres of farmstead. A 307 +/-acre Montana State lease
provides additional native range.
Beaver Creek Ranch offers a range of topography and microclimates including creek bottom meadows, hay ground, and small grain crops. The bluffs overlooking the creek are excellent dryland wheat acreage for winter or spring wheat cropping. In the summer, cattle graze native range both in the open and in the protection of the coulees.
Beaver Creek Ranch owes much of its long standing productivity to the roughly 2 miles of Beaver Creek that run through it, year round. Enjoying the complimentary incomes from both livestock and grain during all four seasons, the ranch also benefits from its convenient close-to-town location. The ranch is boundary-fenced and cross-fenced, providing separate native grass pasture. There are 2 well-watered calving barns and accompanying corrals to work livestock.
The property includes of dry crop, irrigated, and sub-irrigated crop lands. The wheat acreage is currently in a rotation system with approximately 140 acres planted and 140 acres in summerfallow. Both winter wheat and spring wheat have been planted and grow well. One adjacent farm is converting to organic farming.
The ranch has been participating in Farm Service Administration reporting and programs. It has base acres and benefits from the latest developments from FSA. Yields from the ranch's small grain and alfalfa fields are far greater than needed to winter your cow herd. The additional hay is currently sold, but it could also be crop shared, as could the wheat.
